As of April 28th, the side drilling of the Lianqian 2-6-1K well in Block 7 of Port East Zone 2 of Dagang Oilfield has maintained a daily oil production of over 10 tons for 68 consecutive days, marking the reactivation of oil reservoirs in high water cut old areas.

After more than 40 years of development, the seventh block in the second district of Gangdong has reached a water content of 95.2% and has entered the final stage of "double high" development. In order to deeply tap into the remaining oil potential in the old area, researchers from Dagang Oilfield Exploration and Development Research Institute actively rely on sidetracking technology to improve the recovery rate of old wells in low efficiency wells and long-term shutdowns. Researchers have focused on the "ten re understandings", dividing their work into small fragments, refining the potential of oil reservoirs to single sand layers, establishing the injection production well network on single sand bodies, and further implementing the distribution of faults and the distribution range of oil bearing sand bodies through integrated analysis of "wells, earthquakes, and reservoirs". They have identified more than 60 old wells.
