GDZX Completes SF6 Leak Detector Acceptance for Xinjiang Power

    On September 10, 2026, the GDZX technical team arrived in Xinjiang to complete the acceptance inspection upon delivery of two ZXSF-2D01 Handheld SF6 Quantitative Leak Detectors. The team also conducted an on-site leak detection demonstration at the equipment site in Urumqi.

Demonstration at an Indoor Training Facility

     Unlike demonstrations commonly conducted at operating substations, this acceptance inspection was arranged at an indoor training facility of Xinjiang Electric Power Transmission & Transformation. The facility is equipped with GIS and other equipment and is routinely used for hands-on training and product verification by operation and maintenance personnel. This allows the complete equipment operating procedure to be demonstrated without being constrained by actual operating conditions.

The test object in this acceptance was the C-phase current transformer (CT) gas compartment on the busbar side of the 220 kV side of Main Transformer No. 1, installed on a 220 kV gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear (GIS) at the facility. GIS encloses components such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, and current transformers within a metal enclosure, using SF6 gas for insulation and arc extinction. If a gas compartment develops a leak, the gas pressure and insulation level will decrease accordingly. Therefore, gas compartment leak-tightness inspection is a routine task performed before and after equipment commissioning as well as during daily operation and maintenance.

Acceptance and Delivery of Two Units Completed

      The demonstration was conducted that afternoon. Multiple test points were scanned in sequence, and the entire process was completed smoothly. The customer verified the equipment operating procedures, data reading methods, and on-site adaptability. The two ZXSF-2D01 Handheld SF6 Quantitative Leak Detectors successfully passed acceptance and were delivered.

About the ZXSF-2D01

The ZXSF-2D01 is a handheld SF6 quantitative leak detector featuring a compact and lightweight design for one-handed operation. Equipped with a sampling probe and sampling tube, it can be used for on-site leak detection of SF6 gas compartments. It is suitable for leak detection on GIS, circuit breakers, and instrument transformers in substations and power plants, as well as on SF6 gas cylinders and pipelines. It is also suitable for operational training and product verification at training and simulation facilities.
