Time:2026-07-16 Number:1

Introduction

In low-voltage distribution systems, reliable energy metering and stable power quality are core prerequisites for grid operation safety, billing accuracy, and equipment service life. The ZXDN-3A Three Phase Energy Meter Calibrator Power Quality Analyzer is a multifunctional, field-oriented test instrument developed for electrical technicians, metering engineers, and power quality specialists. It integrates high-precision metrological verification and systematic power quality diagnosis, supporting both on-site live testing and laboratory calibration, and effectively addresses the diversified testing demands of power operation, maintenance and inspection scenarios.

1. Core Functional Capabilities

As a dual-purpose test platform, the ZXDN-3A covers full-scene power testing from routine meter verification to professional power quality analysis.

1.1 Energy Meter Calibration

The instrument supports three mainstream calibration methods: photoelectric, manual and pulse mode, adapting to different types of on-site and laboratory energy meters. Its most prominent operational advantage is real-load live testing: technicians can measure the integrated error of metering equipment without power outage, metering circuit modification or meter disassembly, which greatly reduces work downtime and live-line operation risks. When matched with a dummy load, the device can still maintain high measurement accuracy under no-load or low-load conditions, breaking the limitation of traditional calibrators that rely on sufficient load to ensure precision.

It can also be used as a portable standard source to verify voltmeters, ammeters, power meters, phase meters, and various active/reactive energy meters under three-phase three-wire, three-phase four-wire and single-phase 1A/5A specifications.

1.2 Electrical Parameter Measurement & Wiring Diagnosis

The ZXDN-3A accurately measures full electrical parameters including voltage, current, active power, reactive power, phase angle, power factor and frequency. It is equipped with a vector diagram display function for measured voltage and current, which allows technicians to intuitively judge the wiring correctness of metering devices. It can identify 48 wiring modes under three-phase three-wire connection and automatically calculate electrical quantity compensation, significantly improving the efficiency of wiring fault troubleshooting.

For current sampling, the device adopts a split-core (clip-on) current transformer design, which can complete measurement without disconnecting the current loop, further enhancing the safety and convenience of on-site live testing.

1.3 Power Quality Monitoring & Analysis

The instrument supports full-item detection of power quality indicators from the utility grid to user endpoints, including frequency deviation, voltage deviation, voltage fluctuation and flicker, three-phase voltage unbalance factor and harmonic content. It can display both single-phase and three-phase voltage/current waveforms to visually present waveform distortion.

In terms of dynamic testing, it can monitor load fluctuations caused by the operation of various electrical equipment, and automatically record power parameters. It also supports dynamic monitoring of power equipment adjustment and operation, and can measure and analyze the dynamic parameters of reactive power compensation and filtering devices in the power system to conduct quantitative evaluation of their performance and technical indicators.

2. Measurement Specifications and Metrological Accuracy

2.1 Measuring Range

The wide-range design covers most low-voltage distribution network testing scenarios:

Current: 0~5A via built-in transformer; 6 optional split-core transformer ranges (5A small-size, 25A small-size, 100A medium-size, 500A medium-size, 400A large-size, 2000A large-size)

Phase angle: 0~359.999°

Frequency: 45~55Hz

2.2 Accuracy Index

The built-in measurement channel reaches 0.02% accuracy level for core parameters, which can be used as a transfer standard for verifying energy meters of class 0.5 and below. The detailed accuracy specifications are shown in the table below:

3. Operational Design and Environmental Adaptability

3.1 Physical and Operational Design

The instrument has a net weight of 2kg and dimensions of 32×24×13cm, with a compact and lightweight structure suitable for hand-held and on-site carrying. It is equipped with a large LCD display and user-friendly operation interface, which reduces the operation threshold for front-line technicians.

It has a built-in calendar and real-time clock function. Test data is automatically saved during the test process and can be uploaded to a computer for subsequent data sorting and report generation.

3.2 Environmental and Electrical Safety

Operating temperature: -10℃~+40℃, adapting to most indoor and outdoor distribution site environments

Insulation resistance: ≥100MΩ between voltage and current input terminals and the case

Dielectric strength: The working power input terminal can withstand 1.5kV (RMS) to the case for 1 minute

3.3 Standard Pulse Constant

The standard power energy pulse constant is configured according to different current transformers to match the calibration requirements of different specifications of energy meters:

Built-in transformer (FL): 10000 r/kW·h

Split-core transformer: 10000 r/kW·h (5A), 2000 r/kW·h (25A), 500 r/kW·h (100A), 100 r/kW·h (500A), 125 r/kW·h (400A), 25 r/kW·h (2000A)

Conclusion

The ZXDN-3A integrates high-precision metering calibration, diversified wiring diagnosis and systematic power quality analysis into one portable device. For front-line electrical technicians, it provides a one-stop testing solution for daily energy meter verification, on-site wiring fault investigation, power quality problem diagnosis and performance evaluation of power quality governance equipment. Its non-intrusive live testing design, wide load adaptability and field-oriented portable design make it a practical technical tool for low-voltage distribution system operation, maintenance and professional testing.
