ZXSL-601 Multifunctional Vector Analyzer: Technical Analysis & Field Application

Time:2026-07-31 Number:4

Abstract

On-site verification of power system protection, metering wiring inspection and power quality monitoring are core routine work in substation maintenance, power grid commissioning and power consumption inspection. Traditional testing instruments often feature single functions and require repeated wiring when carrying out differential protection vector inspection, electrical parameter measurement and harmonic detection separately, resulting in low field operation efficiency. The ZXSL-601 Multifunctional Vector Analyzer developed by GDZX integrates multi-channel vector display, protection wiring verification, electric parameter testing, metering error diagnosis and harmonic analysis into one device, providing an efficient integrated testing solution for power engineering technicians. This paper systematically introduces its functional characteristics, working principle and key technical specifications, and discusses typical application scenarios in power field tests.

1. Overview of ZXSL-601 Multifunctional Vector Analyzer

Developed targeting the practical demands of on-site power testing, the ZXSL-601 multifunctional vector analyzer adopts DSP AC sampling technology. It supports synchronous sampling of 3 voltage analog channels and 6 current analog channels, and realizes synchronous on-screen display of all channel vectors. The equipment can work as a phase meter to verify the correctness of main transformer differential protection and bus differential protection circuits. It also serves as an electrical parameter tester for fundamental power system parameter measurement, and functions as a wiring detector for three-phase three-wire energy metering loops. In addition, it supports harmonic content analysis from the 2nd harmonic to the 32nd harmonic. Equipped with a humanized man-machine interaction interface, the instrument meets diversified testing requirements for power site work.

2. Core Functional Features

2.1 Multi-channel Synchronous Vector Testing

Three voltage channels and six current channels support vector display on one single screen. During tests for differential protection devices, technicians can complete hexagonal vector diagram drawing with only one wiring layout, significantly improving field working efficiency. For narrow operation spaces that complicate wiring, the double-clamp measurement mode is available to obtain complete hexagonal vector graphs through multiple sampling. The instrument adopts clamp-type current transformers. Operators do not need to open current secondary loops during testing, which eliminates the risk of open-circuit current transformers and ensures safety and convenience for live testing. It supports vector analysis for complex protection equipment to judge wiring correctness, and provides standard correct wiring diagrams for direct comparison.

2.2 Electrical Parameter Measurement & Metering Wiring Fault Diagnosis

The device implements conventional electrical parameter testing. Measurable indicators include three-phase voltage, three-phase current, three-phase active power, three-phase apparent power and phase angles. It can directly convert and display primary-side voltage and current amplitude values of transformers. For three-phase three-wire high-voltage metering equipment, the analyzer realizes miswiring identification. It supports analysis and judgment for 48 typical wiring modes of three-phase three-wire systems and outputs direct analysis results. This function facilitates investigation of electricity stealing caused by abnormal metering wiring and reduces economic losses of power supply enterprises.

2.3 On-site Harmonic Analysis

Real-time spot harmonic measurement is supported. The analyzer can analyze each order harmonic component ranging from the 2nd to the 32nd harmonic, and automatically calculate total harmonic distortion (THD). It helps technicians evaluate power quality, locate harmonic sources and assess the influence of nonlinear loads on power grids.

2.4 Hardware and Data Management Advantages

The instrument adopts a large high-brightness color LCD screen with full English graphical menus and operation prompts. Silicone touch buttons optimize operation experience. The wide-temperature adjustable LCD adapts to winter and summer outdoor working environments. Built-in large-capacity lithium battery supports up to 6 hours of continuous field operation. Users can store over 2000 groups of test records at any time. Saved data can be uploaded to background management computers for centralized filing, review and comprehensive data analysis. It reserves a USB interface to support external mobile storage devices. Moreover, the built-in perpetual calendar and clock module marks accurate timestamps for all test records. Compact dimension (250mm × 160mm × 60mm) and 1.8kg lightweight design make transportation and field carrying convenient.
