What Should Be Paid Attention To When Using Insulation Resistance Meter?
We know that the tested electrical equipment is connected to a higher working voltage, so the insulation resistance value must be measured with an insulation resistance meter. Next, GDZX introduces the precautions of insulation resistance meter measurement.
1. Wither
Before measurement, it is necessary to ensure that the insulation resistance tester works normally. Therefore, open circuit test and short circuit test should be conducted respectively. In the open circuit test, the needle of the insulation resistance meter should be pointed to ∞ and in the short circuit test, the pointer should be pointed to 0, which indicates that the insulation resistance meter works normally.
2. Select voltage level
The voltage level of the insulation resistance tester should be selected according to the rated voltage of the tested electrical equipment.
(1) In general, for electrical equipment below 50V, 250V insulation resistance meter can be selected when measuring its insulation resistance;
(2) For 50 ~ 380V electrical equipment, 500V insulation resistance meter can be selected when measuring its insulation resistance;
(3) The rated voltage of electrical equipment is below 500V. When measuring insulation resistance, insulation resistance meter with reading from zero should be selected, otherwise it is difficult to measure. The reason is that in general, when the electrical equipment has no fault, the insulation resistance is above 0.5m Ω, which can make the electrical equipment electrified. If the insulation resistance meter with reading from 1m Ω is selected, the insulation resistance less than 1m Ω cannot be read. When selecting external conductor of insulation resistance meter, single multi stranded copper wire shall be selected instead of double stranded insulated wire. The insulation strength shall be above 500V, otherwise the accuracy of measurement will be affected.
3. Discharge before measurement
When measuring the insulation resistance of electrical equipment, the power supply of the equipment must be disconnected first. If it is a capacitor or a long cable line, it should be discharged first and then measured.
4. Flat, antimagnetic and shockproof
When using the insulation resistance meter, the meter must be placed horizontally and kept away from the strong magnetic field. When shaking the insulation resistance meter, do not make the meter vibrate up and down.
5. Connect correctly
When the insulation resistance meter is used for measurement, it is also necessary to note that the "L" terminal on the insulation resistance meter should be connected with one end of the live body of the electrical equipment.
